Check out the beautiful Christmas windows for Selfridges London - using G . F Smith paper - in particular Twist.

G . F Smith have always been proud to have their papers adorn some of London and the UK's biggest retail stores and to have our papers included in the Christmas windows for Selfridges is nothing short of a real privilege.

London Design Festival: Paper Smith Pop Up Shop Teaser at Design Junction

New to the blog this week is a post about Paper Smith. A new G . F Smith service that will launch in 3-4 weeks time.

Paper Smith previewed at Design Junction last week as part of the London Design Festival. G . F Smith had their very own pop up shop at Design Junction where you could purchase individual sheets of colorplan, Peregrina Majestic and Gmund Treasury. As well as purchasing colorplan envelopes, notebooks and bags.

 

The display itself was designed by Made Thought and was designed to tease audiences with the array of colours on offer from the G . F Smith ranges.

 

 

Paper Smith will be an on-line shop on the G . F Smith website where anyone can go on-line and purchase small quantities of paper (A4s, A3s, envelopes etc). Watch this space for the official and imminent launch of Paper Smith.

LK Bennett Windows Autumn 2014

New to the blog this week is a post about a collaboration I have worked on with the VM team at LK Bennett. Walk past an LK Bennett store this week and you should see their windows beautifully decorated with paper roses made from G . F Smith paper.

The roses have been cleverly constructed by Studio Boo out of G . F Smith Marlmarque and Lorenzo paper.

LK Bennett chose both Marlmarque and Lorenzo as they reflected the colour palette currently in stores and the soft marble effect of the paper worked well with the floral design.

A variety of print process adorn this piece - debossing, gloss clear foil, metallic foils, letter pressing. Better still Specials Applied showcases materials such as Plike, Twist, Wild, Gmund Treasury, Gmund Action and Softy. It's a delight for the senses - it looks spectacular and feels spectacular as it encompasses such a range of textures from rubbery Plike to the felt like feel of Softy.

A Liberty Christmas

Time to share some clients work here on my blog. This is a beautiful invite designed by the Liberty Department Store in-house Design Team. Produced and printed by FE Burman.

It was a press invite for their Christmas In July showcase and features all G . F Smith products including Perigrina Majestics, Gmund Treasury and Gmund Action. Printed on the outer case using white ink on the Indigo and foiled on the inside. A beautiful example of how speciality papers can tantalise the eye and create a fabulous impact!

Portrait of a Company

So G . F Smith rebranded back in March this year and when they did so produced this beautiful book - Portrait of a Company.

It beautifully embraces the new brand and all things good about G . F Smith - it's heritage, people and innovation. Designed by Made Thought and printed by Push Print the book is also a showcase of G . F Smith papers and inspiration. Papers that feature in the book include: Strathmore, Zen, Colorplan, Phoenixmotion and Plike.

It's a collectors item and sits beautifully in the G . F Smith collection of printed pieces. Not many companies have a heritage as rich as G . F Smith and fewer still have such a rich archive of history to produce such a piece. It's a truly beautiful book that celebrates where G . F Smith has come from, it's inspiration and where it is today.
